Why the run?:
"I don't get outside very often and it seemed like a good
opportunity to indulge myself on some air and try to remember how
to walk, think and so on. I figure that the wilderness is there
either to test or slay a young human. Don is like a panda in his
appeal and a tower of strength, hence I'll be dancing my way through
that desert with both the confidence of a rain god and a cool daddy
warbucks panache."
"All I can see ahead of me is a long lifetime of pain and
journalism. So before starting the next year of study I'd like to
do something interesting enough to talk about until I finish. It
is a huge trek for Don, a great tale for us the crew and means to
support a weighty cause."
